Tornado Targets Trussville...Severe thunderstorms moved through northern Alabama Thursday, producing wind damage, large hail and one tornado. Here’s video of the twister. Here’s storm damage.

The twister moved along a 1.63 mile path through Trussville, Alabama, downing trees, crossing a major highway and flipping a construction trailer. Here’s a more complete summary of the twister. The tornado has been rated a high end EF0 with peak winds of 85 mph. Below is a map showing Trussville and the Birmingham AL area (from IEM at Iowa State Univ).

Besides the tornado, the storms produced 13 reports of wind damage and 66 reports of severe hail. There were 7 reports of hail two inches in diameter (about the size of billiard balls).
