Groundhog's Day, January weather totals and events in West Michigan
It’s six more weeks of winter either way, but we’ll still see if the groundhog sees their shadow. We’ll go over some January weather totals. It’s a rainy, snowy, wintry mix that will come and go for most of the week. It’s dreary, but we’ve gained back some sun since daylight savings and the winter solstice.
Personally, my favorite time of the year is May, when you know the whole summer is still out there in front of you. I liked May when I was in school, too. The teachers were starting to check out for the year, and it was a fun time to hang out with friends without that much going on school-wise.
But it’s not May, it’s February. If I still lived in Michigan I’d be skiing. During the time I lived in Northern Michigan I had season passes to the Homestead, Crystal Mountain and Shanty Creek in various years. We picked one a year. I also went skiing and Boyne Mountain, which was fun. Plus, there was cross country skiing, which sometimes I just did in loops in my backyard. Sometimes I would put on my work boots (steel-toed, because airport), and go for a hike in the snow on the walking trails in Northern Michigan. That seemed to work just fine.
The air was crisp and I was comfortable in just a shirt as I was leaving the airport in Birmingham, AL just now (11 p.m.). We had a cold couple of weeks, but they say we’re in for a warm stretch.
Have a great day!

Thanks, Bill
That would be Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating Station named after the Italian nuclear physicist Enrico Fermi, most noted for his work on the development of the first nuclear reactor as well as many other major contributions to nuclear physics.
Happy Groundhogs Day!
Keep up the good work

Sandy MacReedy: I want you to kill every gopher on the course.
Carl Spackler: Correct me if I'm wrong, Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key.
Sandy MacReedy: Gophers! You great git! Not golfers! The little brown furry rodents!
Carl Spackler: We can do that. We don't even have to have a reason.
Yes we are gaining day light! We are making that slow track toward Spring!
Will the rodent see his shadow?
