Ya, I'm using a browser to access Google Maps. Either they are using both names or it's in the process of updating. When I zoom out, it says America but zooming in it still says Mexico.

I’m calling it the Gulf of America. North America consists of Mexico, Canada and The United States. Some would say Central American Countries as well. I’m calling it the Gulf of America.

Well, America is not just the United States. North America and Central America is on the Gulf's shores.

Anyways, I think we got bigger problems....

I don't think one person should have the right to rename something just because he wants to. It's still the Gulf of Mexico to me!

Seems like a better idea would have been to name it the Guif of North America. That would have been inclusive of the US and Mexico and not the sole possessive of the US.

It was the Gulf of Mexico long before "America" was born and Gulf of Mexico it shall remain!

Yes it does and so does Apple that’s why I deleted my Google and Apple Maps and I’m using Mapquest because Mapquest still has it as Gulf of Mexico !!

A quick resistance task: 😉

1. Google Gulf of Mexico.

2. “Gulf of America" will be at the head of Google’s answer.

3. Click on the three little dots to the right of “Gulf of America”.

4. Select "Send Feedback"

5. Click on "Gulf Of America" text.

6. Select "Inaccurate content".

7. Select "Incorrect" and type in whatever text you want such as "The correct name of this body of water is “Gulf of Mexico".

The more reports to Google the merrier…. 😉

I went in to Google maps and tried to pull up the Gulf of Mexico but only Gulf of America came up so under report an issue I checked they had the wrong name and it should be the Gulf of Mexico. Everyone should do that and in the comments I put Google is a Trump A*s kisser and should grow some bal*ls

Shouldn't it really be called the "Gulf of NORTH America" if it is to be changed at all? Seems that would reflect a much more accurate representation of the contiguous land surrounding it.( More Inclusive. More Diverse and Equitable...Oh, whoops.)
