We got some snow. We're going to get more snow.
From Daughter #3 —
I hear the roads were slippery in West Michigan today. I heard it from Dad, who had to run an errand and said it was a challenge with slick roads and salt trucks, and I heard it from friends on social media.
I’m at the Birmingham, Alabama airport, waiting to pick my husband up from a business trip. I was 37 degrees when I walked in. Being Alabama, I assumed I didn’t need a coat and left the house without one. A bit of a mistake. But the walk back to the parking lot will wake me back up for the drive home. His flight is delayed until 1 a.m., so I might as well write the long version of this post tonight.
Michigan got lots of snow on the 13th, and there’s more to come soon. It’ll be cool and dry for Valentine’s Day, but snow again on Friday night. Arctic air will come to West Michigan with cold temperatures early next week. It’ll be mostly cloudy on Valentine’s Day with a high of 26 and low of 14.
How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? I’ve been working on some show content for next week, because I’m having lasik next week and Dad’s volunteer producer (me) is going to be on medical leave for a few days. I was downstairs looking for a photograph that I took with John Glenn many years ago, and I stumbled on the first Valentine’s Day card that my husband ever wrote me. If you save that stuff, I recommend going back to read it every once in a while. It was a wonderful find the day before Valentine’s Day.
Well I’ve still got about an hour to wait until this flight gets here. Hmmm. Play Yahtzee on my phone? Pacman on my laptop? Make a list of all the things I need to do around the house? It’s too late to call anyone (except I’m sure Dad is still up but given that there’s weather going on he’s probably having fun doing that and I don’t want to interfere with fun). What do you do to make the time pass?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
-Michelle (Daughter #3)
Sounds eventful! Stay warm and out of the elements!
Sounds like you and your husband will have a great Valentines Day! Good to remember that first Valentines Day together and reflect on each other. My marriage did not work out so well. What I learned going through a divorce is that NO MATTER WHAT it takes two working together for each other!! You never give up on each other! We got snow (1/2 inch where I live) and now it's COLD (car indicated 8 degrees) We are supposed to get a mixed bag, freezing rain, snow, rain, freezing ran and more snow. Then it really gets COLD!
